The University of Costa Rica held ExpoMeca 2025, a space in which students and faculty from the School of Mechanical Engineering presented approximately 37 projects developed within the framework of their courses and research projects.

Responding to the country’s current challenges

The initiative aims to foster creativity, knowledge exchange, and the search for technological solutions that respond to the country’s current challenges and needs in various fields, such as energy, mobility, and sustainability, among others.

The projects range from the creation of an educational robotics device that facilitates the understanding of the basic principles of mechanics and programming, the design of an autonomous robot that integrates sensors and programmed controls to perform precise movements, to a structural evaluation to determine the strength and safety of sports equipment.

    Showcasing talent and excellence

ExpoMeca is a student and academic fair that showcases the talent and excellence of the work developed by the students and faculty of the UCR Mechanical Engineering program, as well as the impact that university work has on Costa Rican society.
