Strengthening female leadership skills and opening spaces for reflection on the challenges of sustainability and innovation was the objective of the Multigeneration Upskilling Women on the Move Summit 2025 held in Costa Rica.
For two days, 200 women from nine countries, including high-level executives, established businesswomen, and young students, shared experiences in a format that combined talks, panels, field visits, and networking opportunities.
The conference was organized by INCAE’s Center for Inclusive and Sustainable Leadership and was held as part of a broader three-month program that seeks to promote women’s participation in business and social transformation processes in Latin America.
Voices of Leadership on the First Day
The first day was dedicated to business experiences, with the participation of renowned figures in the regional corporate world. Among them, Kiki del Valle, president of Mastercard’s North Latin America Division, shared her vision of innovation in financial services.
Laura Moreno, Vice President of Corporate Relations, Sustainability, and Marketing at BAC Credomatic, highlighted the importance of promoting financial inclusion as a driver of sustainable development: “Gender equity is key to building more competitive and prosperous societies.”
The agenda also included Adriana Echandi, CEO of Morpho Travel Experience, who spoke about the importance of courage and authenticity in leading in times of change: “When we believe in our power, we are capable of transforming the world.”
The day concluded with a visit to Hacienda Doka, where attendees learned about business transformation projects and sustainable practices applied in the coffee industry, one of the most representative in the country.
Training and New Generations
The second day of the event focused on academics, with the lecture “Shared Wisdom, Leadership in Motion” by Elena Fumagalli, Chair of the INCAE Impact Center.
In her presentation, she highlighted that the program has a multigenerational approach and uses innovative learning methodologies. “Our multigenerational, upskilling, and gamified program reaffirms INCAE Business School’s commitment to promoting the active participation of women in the business and social transformation of the region. We are confident that this program is here to stay and even break down barriers,” said Fumagalli.
Afterwards, a panel on “Neurodiversity and Generation Z” analyzed how changes in the labor market demand new forms of sustainability and inclusive leadership. Other topics were also addressed, such as the challenges of digital transformation and the impact of artificial intelligence on business.
Masterclasses were also held on personal branding, leadership, productivity, and quantum computing. The closing talk was led by Dianne Medrano, CEO of Centenario Internacional, with the talk “CEO of Your Own Life: Leading from Truth, Living with Purpose.” Her message focused on the importance of women assuming leadership roles with authenticity and a focus on personal and social impact.
A program with regional impact
Women on the Move is a program developed in three phases over three months, with the two-day Summit being one of its highlights. This year, 180 women participated, including a group of International Baccalaureate students from different regions of Costa Rica who received full scholarships to participate, thus fostering the next generation of female leaders.
